During our week long stay in the Dominical/Uvita area we had to check out the Uvita Waterfall, also known as Cascada Verde. The Uvita Waterfall is easy to access (4×4 is not necessary), inexpensive and a quick hike to enjoy a natural beauty.

Once in Uvita we headed north on Calle Uvita. After a few minutes we reached a road with a sign pointing us in the right direction. We quickly reached the restaurant at the entrance of the waterfall, paid our entrance fee of 1000 colones per person and started down the path to the waterfall.
A quick hike down steep steps and a narrow path led to the waterfall.
We arrived early in the morning during the week and were able to enjoy the natural beauty alone for a few minutes.
Locals and other tourists started to arrive and began climbing around the falls, sliding down the natural water slide and diving into the pool. We visited during May and every evening there was a heavy rain leading to an intense water flow the day we visited. We decided not to try the water slide ourselves but it was quite entertaining watching locals take the plunge.
We took some time to explore the other pools downstream from the main waterfall. We climbed around on the rocks and waded in the pools. The water was quite chilly but felt good beneath the warm sun.
We found a tiny waterfall to explore in a secluded area that was quite peaceful even when the main area became crowded.
We ended up spending a couple hours in the area and documented our time at the waterfall in a short video.
